Ever Had A Good Idea For A New Product? Here’s My Story….

Hi, my name is Terry Daly and I’m the inventor of Safehold Picture Hangers. I designed this range back in 2003 mainly out of FRUSTRATION. I wanted to hang a big picture that we got for a wedding present and all I could find were cheap and cheerful hangers that promised much but delivered little. And so necessity being the mother of invention I decided to set about designing a high quality picture hanger. But I had one small problem, I had never actually done anything like this before so it was pretty daunting. Where do you begin?

Now, you’re probably thinking WOW How Could He Be Excited About Picture Hangers!! Well I have to say that once I got started it became (as these things do!) very interesting and dare I say it EXCITING! Now rather than just designing a good quality hanger I knew I needed it to be unique and offer something more than other hangers did. So how could I do this? Well, I made safety and security the key elements of my design but also made sure they were easy to fit for clumsy folk like me.

So to cut a long story short, after much procrastination I just took the first step and several months later after many long nights and caffeine fuelled days my first prototypes took shape. Safehold Picture Hanger (large) was born and boy did I feel proud! It’s a premium quality picture hanger with a unique locking mechanism which traps the picture wire or cord in place. This reduces the possibility of accidental dislodging or even theft. Now we don’t actually live in a zone that’s prone to earthquakes but nonetheless with two small children running around my wife felt a lot more comfortable using these hangers. And the best part of all is even though they’re secure someone like me who’s all thumbs can fit them easily in minutes. They’re also excellent for people hanging pictures in public places or business premises as they’re much more secure against theft than regular everyday hangers.

A year later my Safehold small and medium hangers were born and this completed the range. I finally achieved what I set out to do, I had designed a truly unique range of hangers offering something much more that I hope will satisfy all your picture hanging needs.

One of the things I noticed in trying to find a good quality picture hanger, was the very high weight limits that were sometimes suggested. I always recommend that for a heavy picture you use more than one picture hanger purely for peace of mind. For this reason I recommend weight limits from 6lb to 18lb respectively and encourage people to use common sense.
